Explanation:

Breathline capsule is designed to treat Yin Lung and Kidney Deficiency. Deficiency of Yin Lungs and Kidneys can lead to empty heat and damage to blood vessels. Damage to the capillaries of the lungs can cause bleeding and coughing with streaks of blood. Dryness and sore throat appear due to the Empty Heat drying the body fluids. The sensation of warmth in the palms and soles, the burning sensation in the bones, night sweats and a subtle frequent pulse are all typical signs of heat due to Yin deficiency.

Remania root (Di Huang) and Processed Remania root (Shu Di Huang) nourish Yin and eliminate the heat caused by Yin deficiency. Remania root (Di Huang) also cools the blood and stops bleeding. Ophiopogon Root (Mai Dong), Lily Bulb (Bai He) and Baleen Ruffed Grouse Bulb (Bei Mu) nourish Yin, moisturize the Lungs, thin sputum and stop coughing. The root of the noricist (Xuan Shen) cools the Blood, eliminates the Fire resulting from the deficiency, and moisturizes dryness. Platycodon root (Jie Geng) soothes the Qi of the lungs, eliminates cough and thins sputum. Licorice root (Gan Cao) harmonizes all plants in the formula. Cautions/Contraindications:

– Breathline capsule is contraindicated in patients in whom cough is characterized by a state of excess.

– Many plants in this formula are difficult to digest due to the fact that they are cold, sweet and heavy in nature.
